Work in Progress – 2/9/12
A new piece to share. It’s a mixed media of Pyrography (woodburning) and chalk on a 12″ x 18″ panel. Above represents about 7 hours of hands on burning. I have another 5 or so to go then will fill in her wrap with white casein paint and will add in a few additional highlights. I sadly do not have any earlier WIP photos but I did take a short video for those who are curious as to the process of woodburning. The video is pretty awful as I had the camera positioned in the portrait format (next time will do landscape) and the lighting was not so great, it’s enough to give a glimpse into the process until I can film a better version. It’s sped up to 2x speed.
This piece is going to be gorgeous. It is already so compelling and I can see that it si small, but it feels monumental to me.
Can’t wait to see the final results.
